A resident can request to keep their trash and recycle bins outdoors which is outside of the Patriot Bluffs Subdivision Covenants, Article IX, Section 8; “All garbage or refuse shall be kept in the rear yard of all Lots, not in the front or side yards and may not be visible from the public front-facing street.” And Article X, Section 8; Garbage; Unsightly Storage: “All trash and rubbish shall be kept in such a manner as not to be visible from the street upon which the Unit fronts.” The Board of Patriot Bluffs has approved that a “Green Barrier” is acceptable and can be placed around the trash receptacles. The definition of a Green Barrier is a “live” barrier such as shrubs, small trees such as a Pencil Holly that are as tall as the trash receptacles which is at least 4’ tall when plants are installed and go to the ground with growth so the cans cannot be viewed, and the cans are not to be visible from the Unit fronts. No fencing of any kind will be permitted. The trash and recycle bins shall also sit on pavers and/or concrete. The area shall be kept manicured by the homeowner at all times as this is not a function of the HOA landscaping company. A diagram along with measurements and a picture of the shrub or small tree being considered for use must be submitted to the Architectural Review Committee prior to commencement of the project for approval and a picture must be submitted upon completion of the project.
